Romanian police to enhance their public image, with PhotoModels :)

Yes, the romanian police, along with PROLEX (The National Romanian Syndicate of Police Officers), are launching an image enhancement campaign for the Romanian police. Part of this, is a calendar, where they used photos of models dressed in Police Uniforms ... or well, sexy police uniforms :)

Anti Piracy Police in Al-Balad, & Bastat owners protestِ

Finally, we are seeing a major serious movement against piracy in Jordan.

After long years of un-seriousness in fighting piracy in Jordan by the National Library Dept. The National Security Department has introduced along with its criminal investigation department an Anti Piracy Police.

And apparently, just days after its creation, it started serious raids in Al-Balad area, resulting in having the pirated DVD stands and shop owners protesting yesterday down town.

احتجاجا على مصادرة الجهات الأمنية لمحتويات محلاتهم بسبب " حقوق الملكية الفكرية".

وتتلخص تفاصيل القضية حسب أبو خالد صاحب محل DVD بعد أن " قامت دائرة البحث الجنائي باستحداث دائرة لحماية الملكية الفكرية، اذ تقوم هذه الدائرة بمصادرة كل الاسطوانات التي تخرق قانون الملكية الفكرية".

Now the next step should be reducing taxes on original copies, and encouraging local production and distribution companies to take licenses of manufacturing original copies locally.

The model that was applied in several eastern european countries is a very good example.

Watchout! New speed radars :)

Yup, I just like it when we become closer to europe in some stuff around here.

I've mentioned those like over a week ago, but being too busy prevented me from blogging it. I've got loads of posts in my head, and i aint finding time for them.

So, The traffic police department starting since about a couple of weeks to install a new generation of speed raders, installed on police cars.

The new radars have mainly 3 parts, the radar it self installed in the front grill of the car.
a camera on the car's board, at the bottom of the front windscreen.

And a monitor inside the car that has the information mapped between the camera and the speed radar, and, at the same time recorded.

The nice thing that i liked most is, that I saw those new radars installed on normal cars with private license plates :)

yup, the cars are colored in golden, brown, and maybe other colors, i saw just a couple last week, and they have regular white plates, and they are small Chevrolet Aveo even :)

Next time you are exceeding your speed over 80 KMs/H, look into your mirror, look at the parked cars alongside the street, look at the cars coming from the opposite direction. then press that pedal!

I guess this is the only cure for those selfish drivers who care only about pressing the pedal, and who do not look at the others on the street, and do not look into their hearts in order to decide weather it is good to exceed the speed limit or not.

Al Yarmouk University in DANGER!

Al Yarmouk University, the 2nd oldest university in jordan after UJ, got its third and final alert for the inner decipline situation, making in it in the final stages before being totally closed.
this is due to the fact that Last Thursday, the 7th of December 2006, The Police forces entered the campus because of a range of big fights hitting the campus for several days in a row, and maxemizing last thursday.

and while the Police department confirmed the facts, the University's president denied everything! by saying:
وأكد رئيس الجامعة د. محمد الصباريني لعمان نت أنه لا يوجد أعمال شغب داخل الجامعة، إنما خلاف بين بعض الطلاب أدى إلى تجمهر طلاب الجامعة وأن أحد الشباب المتسببين في الخلاف هو مفصول أكاديميا من الجامعة.
